| Take a close look at the end of the load bearing beam. Can you see the problem here? This beam certainly won’t fall down because it does rest on the solid log wall, but the strange way in which it was scabbed together is definitely not the Strongwood way. This picture also, clearly shows where they had to leave room on this interior wall for the shrinkage of the exterior log walls. |
